
18 teams from Brisbane will travel to the state’s premier junior rugby championships in Toowoomba for the State Junior Rugby Union competition for U13 to U17 players held from 20 September to 22 September.

The Brothers Junior Rugby Union club has been awarded the 2011 Club of the Year. This is the second year in a row that the club has taken out the coveted and closely contested award. The award is determined by Management Committee with the points being added or deducted for aspects of club management that include:
professional development of game management personnel and committee management,
registration of players,
submission of team sheets,
reporting of weekly results to Competition Manager,
payment of fees,
game forfeits,
team withdrawals,
send offs and sin bins,
citings and misconducts,
game day procedures,
compliance to code of conduct by club members,
percentage increase in players numbers,
attendance at President and registrar meetings,
hosting a club forum,
responding to correspondence,
The QJRU Xstrata Coal Country Muster last weekend has produced 90 players in three junior squads who will vie for the chance to become "Bushrangers" at the junior state championships in September. The three squads - in Under 13, U15 and U17 - have drawn players from Cairns, Mt Isa, Mackay, Central Highlands, Central Queensland, Bundaberg and Hervey Bay, areas which would otherwise not have been represented at the state championships.

The 2010 Open Juniors Mid Season grand finals were played last Sunday at Redlands Rugby Union. With six teams from Sunnybank (3), Redcliffe, Logan and Gold Coasts, Coomera Crushers all vying for premierships, there was some hard hitting and expansive running played.
