ARU FORMALISES 2012 PATHWAY

The ARU have formalised its changes to the Pathway Laws for the 2012 season, after its first year introduction and a National consultative feedback process.  There have only been a few changes made to U6, U7 and U12.

These changes are:

Altered game-day structure from 1 x 15 small sided games and 1 x 15 min tag rugby game to two (2) small sided games (approx 10 mins) followed by 2 x 10 min halves of tag rugby.

Response to strong feedback approving of small sided games (63% nationally) but requests for more game time and two halves of tag rugby.

Removal of scrums and lineouts.

Proved difficult to implement effectively at U6 for coaches and participants.

Stricter application of two handed tag on the shorts.

Will reduce the number of tags effected resulting in more running play.

U7

Stricter application of two handed tag on the shorts.

Scrum push reduced from 1.5m to 1m.

Brings the U12 age group scrum Law in line with the U10 and U11 Pathway Law.

BJRU cleans up in 2012

While we make every attempt to keep the game play clean we can’t make the same promise about your playing gear. BRISBANE JUNIOR RUGBY UNION PARTNERS WITH GILBERT

CLUBS GEAR UP FOR SEASON SIGN ON

The Brisbane Junior rugby clubs are all gearing up for the start of the 2012 season sign on.  With clubs commencing their sign ons from this weekend, it is time to dust off the boots, find the mouthguard and head down to the rugby clubs to kick the ball around.

ALL clubs will be involved in the National Rugby Sign On in Saturday 18th February, however some clubs have chosen to hold other sign on days also.

FOREST LAKE JRUC OPENS NEW CLUBHOUSE

The Forest Lake Junior Rugby Union Club held the official opening of their new clubhouse on Saturday, 28th January, at their playing fields.  The shared facility was officially opened by Brisbane's Lord Mayor, Graham Quirk and Councillor Angela Owen Taylor.
