Brisbane Junior Rugby Union exists to give every child the opportunity to enjoy rugby in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment — where fun comes first and confidence, character and skills grow along the way.

As part of the global game, we proudly deliver year-round rugby opportunities for boys and girls of all ages, sizes and abilities across greater Brisbane, welcoming families from all backgrounds into our rugby community.

From a child’s very first game to representative pathways, BJRU provides clear, age-appropriate development through both traditional XV-a-side rugby and the fast-paced excitement of Rugby 7s. Our focus is on creating positive experiences — helping young players learn the game, build friendships, develop resilience and enjoy being part of a team.

BJRU administers junior rugby competitions for 27 affiliated clubs and more than 8,000 young players, working closely with volunteers, coaches, referees and community partners to uphold the values of respect, teamwork, inclusion and sportsmanship. We are committed to providing well-run competitions, strong player welfare standards and pathways that allow every child to play at a level that suits them.
