ABOUT US

The Brisbane Junior Rugby Union is the governing body for junior rugby union competitions in and around the Brisbane area in Queensland. It oversees and organises rugby competitions for junior players, providing a structured and developmental environment for players to participate in the sport.

Where every child can play, grow and belong

At Brisbane Junior Rugby Union, we're all about giving every child the chance to enjoy rugby in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment - where fun comes first.

From first-time players to future stars, we offer year-round rugby for boys and girls of all ages and skill levels across Brisbane. Every player is welcome, and every child has a place in the game.

More than just rugby

We're here to help kids build confidence, make friends and develop skills for life. Through both traditional XVs and the fast-paced excitement of Rugby 7s, players learn teamwork, resilience and a love of the game - at their own pace.

A thriving community

With 26 affiliated clubs and over 7,000 young players, BJRU is powered by passionate coaches, volunteers and families who share our values of respect, inclusion and sportsmanship. Together, we create positive experiences on and off the field.

Start the journey

Whether your child is picking up a rugby ball for the first time, or dreaming big, we're here to help support every step of the journey - for them and for your whole family.

OPERATIONS

Brisbane Junior Rugby Union is managed on a day-to-day basis by staff, with the operation of the organisation overseen by the board members who are elected at the Annual General Meeting.
