U12 WEST BLUE TAKE OUT SIMON ABUBAKER SHIELD

LAST weekend the annual Under 12 Brisbane Junior Rugby Union Simon Abubaker Skills Development carnival was held at Redcliffe. 8 teams competing from each of the four Brisbane regions participated culminate the 6 week skills development program.

The West Region Blue Team comprising of players from the Ashgrove, The Lakes, Kenmore, Taylor Bridge and Ipswich Rugby Clubs did battle under wet muddy conditions, and took out this now prestigious junior age group title.
The West Blue team played controlled rugby against at times bigger opposition and only conceded one try through out the tournament.
The weather cleared for the grand final where a very large crowd gathered and were treated to an exciting game between West Blue & South Forest, with West Blue holding on for a close 10-5 victory. 

Every team  from every club participating in the U12 BJRU Club competition  was represented on the weekend.
